General Info

Tucked along 200 N Main St, Russell, PA 16345, Ida Mae's is the kind of American restaurant that instantly feels welcoming. The moment you arrive, the laid-back setting and the convenient free parking lot make the visit easy and stress-free. It’s a simple place, yet that simplicity works in its favor. Families, locals, and travelers passing through Russell often stop here for a quick bite, especially during the busy breakfast and lunch hours.

Walking in, the atmosphere feels casual and friendly. The dining space has the charm of a classic small-town diner where conversations flow easily between tables. It’s clearly good for kids, and you’ll often see families enjoying a relaxed meal together. The menu leans into comforting American breakfast and lunch favorites, and from the moment you sit down, it’s clear that the kitchen focuses on satisfying, familiar flavors.

One of the highlights that immediately caught my attention on the menu was the Blueberry Raspberry Scone. Fresh, lightly sweet, and packed with berry flavor, it’s the kind of pastry that pairs perfectly with a morning coffee. The texture strikes a nice balance-soft inside with just enough crumb on the outside. It’s a small detail on the menu, but it says a lot about how Ida Mae's approaches its food: simple ingredients prepared with care.

For something more filling, the Portobello Omlette stands out as a must-try breakfast option. The rich, earthy flavor of the portobello mushrooms adds depth to the dish, while the eggs stay fluffy and satisfying. It’s the sort of meal that feels hearty without being heavy, making it a popular pick for regulars who come in for a dependable start to the day. During lunch hours, the same relaxed vibe continues as diners stop by for a quick bite before heading back to work or continuing their day.

What makes Ida Mae's memorable isn’t just the food-it’s the overall experience. The location on Main Street makes it easy to find, and the steady flow of locals hints at the restaurant’s reputation in the community. Conversations around the tables often include people sharing recommendations from the menu or chatting about their latest visit.

Reviews from visitors frequently mention the welcoming environment and the straightforward, comforting meals. It’s the type of American restaurant where the menu feels familiar, the service feels genuine, and the setting invites you to slow down for a moment-even if you only stopped in for a quick breakfast or lunch. In a small town like Russell, places like Ida Mae's often become part of the daily rhythm of the community.

What customers say?

“ We went here for the first time this morning and we weren't disappointed. The Eggs Benedict was excellent as were the Pancakes . Great server and great coffee! As a restaurant owner we were completely satisfied. It was a short trip over the state line to have a great breakfast. We'll be back for sure. Update-We went back today and had another great experience. The breakfast sandwich I had was huge. I've never seen one so big, and it came with three meats. The muffin must be homemade. The pancake and sausage were also great. ”
